Best Essential Oils For Your Snow Trip

Before discovering essential oils I used to lug around a first aid kit filled with panadol, nurofen and tablets and medicines to help me fend off coughs, colds and digestive issues. After studying their chemistry and becoming super-healthy I began experimenting with essential oils on myself and my family. Now we just take a tiny carry case of essential oils (oh.. and maybe some bandaids).

I ONLY use the DoTERRA brand of essential oils because I support their business ethos (they go to the country with the most sustainable production and create sustainable long employment in the supply chain. They also use profits to fund expeditions to free child sex slavery).

Here’s my go-to essential oil list:

Rub on your belly for any digestive upsets including motion sickness. It contains ginger, fennel, coriander, peppermint, tarragon and caraway seed essential oils.

My daughter is a keen user of Digestzen

On Guard

This is my healthy protection on the plane against everyone else’s horrible germs. I rub it on my hands frequently and breathe it in if anyone nearby is sneezing. It won’t strip your body of good germs like those horrid hand sanitizers. Contains Wild Orange Peel, Clove Bud, Cinnamon Leaf, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Leaf, and Rosemary Leaf/Flower essential oils.

Why can’t more people cough into their elbow??

Oregano Oil

Great for the immune system when you feel you’re ‘coming down with something’. You only need a drop or two (diluted with a carrier oil like coconut or almond oil) rubbed on the feet. Wash your hands straight after, keep away from the eyes!

Coming down with something?

Basil oil

It has a high linalool content that helps reduce stress and anxiety (2 drops mixed with a carrier oil and breathed in or rubbed onto feet). 2 drops can be dropped onto a cotton ball and gently placed on the OUTSIDE of the ear canal in times of ear infection.

These days I only use Jasmine oil or Rose oil or Ylang Ylang oil or Geranium oil as a perfume instead of those toxic hormone altering perfumes from perfume houses I bet you are not even planting half as many trees as doTerra (10,000 acres on the Big Island of Hawaii alone!) Bottles are small, portable and either come with in a roller bottle or I use a couple of drops with my carrier oil.

Perfume in the durable bottle (I accidently dropped it on the ground)

Peppermint oil

I use a couple of drops (or in the roller bottle version) for headaches, belly aches or when i want to freshen up. Keep away from eyes, wash your hands.

Keep handy for hang overs – ouch

In the roller bottle for when my period is coming or has just arrived and I’m feeling weepy or like I want to yell at someone. It even contains Vitex, like my functional doctor prescribed me for calm emotions. It contains Clary Sage, Lavender, Bergamot, Roman Chamomile, Cedarwood, Ylang Ylang, Geranium, Fennel, Carrot Seed, Palmarosa, and Vitex.

Roll on writs when you feel you could murder somebody.

I take a couple more but they’re the main oils I can’t do without. Feel free to comment with any questions or click through to set up your own wholesale account.

Happy travelling.
